Osteopathic Profession Fights for Recognition

Emerging as a new healing art at the end of the 19th century, osteopathic medicine took some time to be recognized.

The first D.O.s fought for recognition for their profession by traveling to small towns and demonstrating the healing potential of osteopathic medicine one person at a time. Once the profession became established and respected, there were still other battles to fight and win.

Medical Certificate form California, 1916.
